WebJan 12, 2007 · The E4OD's are programmed to shift soft. Generally if you have a sensor problem, it will cause the trans to shift high and hard. The exception is if the FIPL sensor is adjusted too low. Truck has about 189,000 miles. Automatic trans started shifting hard into 2nd gear, would rev up and then bang into second. Manually shifting from 1 to 2 then D works fine. Changed trans fluid & filter and replaced MAP sensor. Still shifts weird and seems worse.
